First edition in German of this testimony to the fate of the Polish ghettos.

This volume, first published in 1945 in Polish, presents “a record of the organization and liquidation of the ‘Ghettos’ in Poland… It admits of no plea of ignorance… because the roads traveled by the victims were long in space and time and their cry was loud enough to have resounded throughout the land” (Foreword). Except for the foreword, the text is in German, translated from the original Polish. A notice printed on a preliminary leaf reads (in translation), “This book was submitted as evidence at the Nuremberg war crimes trial.”

Text lightly and evenly toned, loss at bottom right corner of last several leaves, small closed tear to title page. Light edge-wear to boards, loss to corner of rear board. A very good copy of a scarce book from occupied Germany.
