Accompanied by an archive of additional documents, some printed and engrossed in manuscript and others fully in manuscript, all related to the same sloop from the same period. Among the crew was African American Caesar Brown, almost certainly a former slave, who served as a sailor at the rate of $10 per month. He signed his contract, present in this archive, with a mark.
