First offprint edition of this anti-lynching sermon by a white Presbyterian minister relating the stories of two Black defendants lynched in Texas and Oklahoma.

This sermon by Presbyterian minister Dr. Henry M. Edmonds discusses the many costs of lynching, including everything from property damage to the lynching of innocent people. Edmonds argues that the solution to lynchings lies in education and in the equal provision of educational opportunity to both Blacks and whites. Moreover, Edmonds firmly asserts that the court system must be responsible for justice as mobs and their ignorant and sadistic actions are harmful to civilization.
