The life of "The Merry Monarch," covering his exile in Europe during Cromwell's Commonwealth, his restoration in 1660, and his rule after that until his death in 1685. The plates depict various images of Charles II, the fire of London, Nell Gwyn and the Duke of Monmouth, among others. Bookplate.
