First American edition, with two original color lithographs specially prepared by Chagall for this edition, and with numerous beautiful color reproductions of the artist's work.
Illustrated are various drafts as well as the final versions of the 12 stained glass windows (one for each of the tribes of Israel) designed by Chagall for the synagogue of the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center.
