CHURCHILL, Winston. Typed letter signed. Kent, January 25, 1933. One leaf measuring 7 by 9-1/2 inches, on Churchill's personal "Chartwell, Westerham, Kent" printed letterhead. Handsomely framed with portrait, entire piece measures 19 by 25 inches. $18,000.
Signed and inscribed typed letter from Churchill to his publisher regarding his book Thoughts and Adventures.
The letter, dated January 25, 1933 and typed on Churchill's personal Chartwell letterhead, reads, "I agree to your closing with the offer you have had from Sweden for the rights of Thoughts and Adventures, i.e. £ 25 for the first 2500 copies and £ 10 for each following 1000 copies. This letter confirms my telephone message through my secretary this afternoon, asking you to proceed." Churchill has written out the salutation of "My dear Mr. Butterworth" and the closing "Yours sincerely, Winston S. Churchill."
