This wonderful photobook combines conversations between chef Marc Meneau and photographer Hans Gissinger with striking photographs of French cuisine and food preparation. Meneau, holder of three Michelin stars, was the head chef at L'Espérance in the Burgundy region of France prior to his untimely death from COVID-19 in December 2020. Fortunately, Swiss photographer Hans Gissinger has immortalized Meneau's character and accomplishments through this lush photobook. Gissinger, whose influences include 17th-century Dutch still life paintings, went on to make a name in the food photography world, photographing the books Salami and Tartas as well as the cover image for Pollan's Omnivore's Dilemma.
