Owner signature of Marshall Dimock, renowned political scientist who served as FDR’s assistant Secretary of Labor (1938-40), taught at the University of Chicago and at Northwestern, and was head of New York University’s Department of Government (1955-62). Dimock authored more than 40 books, including British Public Utilities and National Development (1934), “which was praised in The New York Times Book Review as ‘the first comprehensive analysis and general account of the ways in which the British have endeavored to solve the problems that have begun to appear in this country” (New York Times).
