KEYNES ON THE PROBLEM OF GERMAN REPARATION
KEYNES, John Maynard. A Revision of the Treaty. London: Macmillan, 1922. Octavo, original blue cloth, original dust jacket. $2800.
First edition of this post-WWI economic work arguing against burdening Germany with reparations.
Keynes prepared this material as a supplement to his Economic Consequences of the Peace, which he published in 1919. Both works stemmed from Keynes' condemnation of the Allied policy of demanding heavy reparations from Germany; in protest he resigned from the post of principal representative of the British Treasury at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919.
Book near-fine, with offsetting to endpapers, cloth with a bit of spotting, bump to top edge of front panel. Rare dust jacket lovely and about-fine with toning to spine. An exceptional copy.
