Second edition, with 28 lovely chromolithographs by Daniel Perea depicting the various stages of the bullfight.
The images depict all stages of a corrida de toros, from the encierro to the arrastre del toro. Includes also four pages of chromolithographed music and lyrics for “La Marcha de la Manolería” from the zarzuela Pan y Toros. With captions in Spanish, French, English and German. First published 1894. Owner inscription “Lillian Livingston Bennett, from Whitman Bennett, Spring 1961, ‘Pappa’s Spanish —-.” Whitman Bennett was a renowned American bookbinder, bibliophile and author.
First few leaves remargined; a few paper repairs. Light rubbing to edges of boards only, pictorial front cover quite nice. A very good copy.
