This edition features a scholarly introduction by Samuel Coleridge’s son, Hartley. “Hartley Coleridge’s only literary effort of any consequence was [this] edition of Massinger and Ford, [originally] published in 1840, accompanied by valuable biographies of the dramatists, but the projected criticisms were never written” (DNB).
